1. Open multiple tokens early

Every 6 is a chance to bring a token onto the board. The more tokens you have in play, the more flexible your moves become.

2. Keep tokens on safe squares

Star squares protect you from capture. When an opponent's token is within six squares, aim to end your move on a safe square.

3. Hunt captures — but wisely

Capturing an opponent sends them all the way home, a huge tempo swing. Look for capture chances, but don't expose your own token to a bigger risk.

4. Manage risk near your yard exit

Opponents often camp near your starting square. Don't stack all your tokens at the exit where a single capture could hurt.

5. Block with pairs

Two tokens of the same colour on one square can form a strong position. Use it to control key parts of the track.

6. Think about the whole board

Watch all four colours, not just your own. Anticipate where opponents will move and plan around them.
